Hey Everyone,

I had to shovel snow on the third day I was here. It has already begun to snow again!! :-( I hate snow. I have not yet received the package. I will have to check at the mission office to see if it is there. I am glad that work is going well and that God is blessing you. I had to teach the lesson for fifth Sunday. Glad that is over with! I will take another picture of the 17 mile per hour sign in my area that I tried to send earlier. It has been hard finding a ride to the temple, but I will continue to try to make it there. We have one baptism this Saturday for RENE WALL she is really solid and I am glad to be part of it. Mandy Manor is another solid investigator she is being baptized on the 18th. Then we also have a nine year old being baptized on the 2nd of May. He is really smart he has asked questions that I would not have asked at that age like, "Is Satan God's son?" I would not have asked that. It is amazing the questions he has asked. Well, I will have to try to find another camera card. If I can't then I might have to get a new camera!:-( I hope I don't have to do that. Also keep me updated on the construction projects.

Hey everybody,

We have six baptism dates. Five in April and one in May. I think it takes about four days for mail to reach here. I am serving in the area called Farr West. Because I am the driver, I am starting to get to know the area better. I still hate driving but luckily the snow is gone. We have a Subway and Wendy's and Arby' s in the area. We get dinner almost every day here. The people we are teaching are progressing very well and are working their way towards baptism. The place I am staying at is owned by the patriarch in the area. It is pretty nice. I still have Elder Kaufman as my trainer and I am still learning so much. I have been able to keep warm and on a few days we did not have to wear our suit coats. I am still happy to know that Nate's car was decorated.

The area has been great. I am still pumped to be here.

That is so cool that you had fun at the wedding. I’m glad that they found Nate’s car to decorate it. The talks from the Seventies are always good just like the Twelve and First Presidency. It is warming up here. Elder Kaufman and I cover 22 wards within two stakes. The Stake Presidencies are cool. Driving is so hard because the houses all look the same to me.

So how goes the planning of Marvin's wedding? Anything else cool happen? I’m having a great time here.

My P-Day is Tuesday. I sent you a letter. It should have the address that you can write me at. The care packages I got were waiting for me at the mission home. My new companion is named Elder Kaufman he is really cool. He has taught me more in the past week than I learned the whole three weeks at the MTC. We also have three baptism dates that I was here for. This has been so much fun. The people out here are so nice. There was this one lady that answered the door though and immediately said, "I don't think you will be interested in me and I'm definitely not interested in you!" and slammed the door. It was so funny. I have been laughing about it ever since. My first Sunday I gave two twenty minute talks. I was not happy. I had to write them but then I looked through the talks that you sent with me and found some so thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!! I'm so happy for Nathan. Tell him congrats. Have fun at the wedding.

I’m in the field now. My trainer is Elder Kaufman he is really cool. He is from Canada. Yesterday I taught my first real lesson. That was cool the investigator is already committed to baptism. When I got to the Mission Home where President and Sister Joyce live, I got a flood of letters from the Young Men and Young Women. So I will write them on my P-Day which is Tuesday. I am excited to be out here in the field. We did a ton of tracting on my first day and got several potential investigators. Today we have several lessons planned to teach, so hopefully they will not cancel. I have started to get to the point where I am extremely tired when I get back home, which is cool. This has been the greatest month of my life, through the MTC and here in the field. Also, I got the addresses, so thank you for sending them. Well, about twenty three months to go for me here in the cold. I’m just glad that I have been able to use the winter stuff to keep warm. Dear Elder.com did work and it felt good knowing it was sent that day or the day before.

Hi Parents--this is Sister Joyce, I am the Mission President's wife. This is just a short note to tell you that your sons and daughters arrived safely here in Ogden this week--and are already hard at work!! I had an excited call from one of them last night--he had just committed someone for baptism on the first lesson--and they had accepted!!! They are a great group and we certainly appreciate the preparation you helped them make!

When dear President Faust called us to serve he told us we would not be judged on the number of conversions we had in the mission, though of course this is important, we would be judged on the men and women our missionaries are in twenty years time. We take that challenge very seriously and work hard to do all we can to fulfill it and when you think about it, what will they be doing in twenty years time?--our missionaries will be preparing their sons and daughters to go on missions!! We love our missionaries dearly---and they love us!! Thanks for such great sons and daughters! ---Sister Joyce
